Nominations for Marine Reserves Begin in July
Governor Kulongoski directed the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and Oregon's Ocean Policy Advisory Council (OPAC) to develop a network of marine reserves in state waters to help protect, sustain, and restore marine ecosystems and wildlife for future generations. In July and August of 2008 Oregonians will be able to nominate special places for protection. For news on this planning process, go to the state's Oregon Marine Reserves website.
