Green Fire Productions' new documentary, Common Ground Part 2: Oregon Ocean Legacy, the follow-up program to Common Ground: Oregon’s Ocean focuses its lens on the rich, diverse marine ecosystems of Oregon. The film features stunning views of Oregon’s underwater wildlife and habitats, and audiences hear from state policy makers, local elected officials, marine scientists and fishermen on the need for a network of marine reserves and marine protected areas in Oregon's state waters.

Proposals for Marine Reserves Under Consideration
Governor Kulongoski directed the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and Oregon's Ocean Policy Advisory Council (OPAC) to develop a network of marine reserves in state waters to help protect, sustain, and restore marine ecosystems and wildlife for future generations. September 30, 2008 was the deadline for Oregonians to nominate special places as marine reserves. For news on this planning process and to see the proposals, go to the state's Oregon Marine Reserves website.

Get involved with the coalition of people working to establish a science-based network of marine protected areas and reserves in Oregon.
